FML joins the BVRLA
The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has accepted FML as a full member. BVRLA is a trade association for the vehicle rental and leasing industry in the UK. As such it has three primary functions:
- To lobby government and its many associated agencies on behalf of the industry, seeking always a fair, reasonable, and above all, a practical resolution to issues that affect the industry and the wider cause of motoring in general.
- To provide Members with services and information that aids them in developing their businesses and in maximising the returns on their investment.
- To regulate a majority of the industry through a mandatory Code of Conduct and by regular inspections of Members, vehicles and premises.
The BVRLA has nearly 800 Members who between them run more than two and a half million vehicles and who buy more than 44% of all new vehicles sold in the UK. In doing so, they spend in excess of £15.4 billion each year on vehicles and around a further £4 billion on support services. And importantly, through its Members and their customers, the BVRLA represents the interests of more than two million business car drivers along with the 10 million plus drivers who each year use a rental vehicle.
In combined fleet sizes, BVRLA Members represent more than 65% of the commercial vehicle rental and leasing fleet, 85% plus of the car rental fleet and over 95% of the leasing and contract hire fleet.
